GENERAL INFORMATION ABOUT
LOCAL In SITE (LIS)
Local ‘In’Site is a unique opportunity for travellers seeking authentic cultural experiences. It is particularly suited to anyone who enjoys connecting with ‘locals’. Our mission is to promote world peace and intercultural communication.
Our hosts are interested in participating because of their friendly ways and their interest in meeting people from different backgrounds. They are part of this service because they own welcoming and safe homes that they are happy to share with like minded individuals.
Residences currently available are in Perth – Western Australia, Italy and Croatia.
The service operates on the basis of mutual trust and respect where common sense and sensitivity to others are essential components. Responsible and ethical interaction promotes healthy international relations as well as a love for our culturally diverse life-styles. Local ‘In’ Site provides connections between people and recommends that all participants are suitably covered by insurance.
Our data-data base is continuously updated.
The understanding is that guests are welcomed with a smile and hosts interact with them whenever possible and within reason. The main assumption is that all participants enjoy interacting positively with others whilst experiencing a diverse life style.
For the above reasons the service is open to all responsible and friendly adults, who are receptive to new experiences, enjoy meeting fellow travellers and are interested in local culture. All nationalities are welcome and our vision is to expand the service to more countries and continents. Networking is underway in other areas.
A percentage of the traveller’s fees goes to the Local ‘In’ Site fund to sponsor travel scholarships. Our goal is to benefit all parties involved.
We look forward to welcoming more people in the network and to hearing from prospective hosts and guests in the near future. Travellers from all countries are cordially invited to participate.
Please write an email to Marina, explaining a little about your situation and including some digital photos, if possible.
In particular, if you are interested in hosting, we would like to know what your nightly and weekly fees are, some information about your house, people and pets, your general interests, the locality you live in and places that can be visited in your area. B & B’s are welcome and we would especially like to hear from house-owners interested in being part of this network. As a general rule daily rates, including LIS’s 15% additional service-charge, should be around the AUD $45 per night or equivalent. Weekly rates should be kept, as far as possible, to AUD $150-200 or equivalent. This is because the aim is mainly that of covering expenses whilst having a multicultural experience. Please also read the provided guidelines for Hosts.
If, instead, you are interested in staying in one of the accommodations already available, please read the guidelines for Guests. Thank you.
NB: Part of LIS’s Service Fee will be used for the scholarship fund.
